From what I understand within the city in residential areas the law says no loud music over 65 decibels during the day and 58 decibels at night until 10PM Sunday through Thursday. It’s 11PM on Friday and Saturday. Up to a $1000.00 fine.
So, I installed a decibel meter app on my phone and went out to take some decibel readings and this is what I found at 10:35 PM. I took three sample videos with the app and you can watch them below. Of course we have no way of knowing how accurate this meter is, but that’s not really the point. It’s just an interesting addition to documenting the after hours playing of the loud music to harass us.
The bit number in the top left in the current decibel level. The umbers to the right at the top show the average level. As we can see the average DB (Decibel) level is 76, and that’s over the 58db allowed by the law at this time of night on a Sunday evening.
